Write to [email protected]. There is no contact form here, because a form implies a service desk and this site does not have one. Mail is read by one person, which is also why the answer below about response times is deliberately unglamorous.

What can be answered

• Corrections. A figure, a standard reference or a code citation that is wrong or out of date. Send the page address, the sentence, and the source you are using.
• Broken or wrong links, including a link that now points somewhere unrelated.
• Requests for a subject that fits the scope of the site. No promises about timing, but they are logged.
• Reuse questions, for example quoting a passage with attribution.

What cannot be answered

• Diagnosis of a specific house. Nobody here has seen your wall, your roof or your drain, and a confident answer from a photograph would be worth exactly what you paid for it.
• Recommendations of contractors, brands or products. The site does not rank companies and does not accept payment or product in exchange for coverage.
• Quotes, estimates or price checks. No prices are published here, for the reasons set out on the about page.
• Emergencies. If water is entering the building, gas is suspected, or a structure has moved, that is a phone call to a licensed trade or to the utility, not an email.
• Requests to add a link, place a sponsored article, or publish a guest post. Those are deleted without reply.

Response times

Corrections with a source attached are dealt with quickly, because they are easy to act on. Everything else is read and may not receive a reply. That is a limitation of a site written by one person in the evenings, and it is better stated plainly than dressed up as a policy.
